Haiti has always been the will survive place to me. The strongest and most resilient people. And also as we never let them forget, the poorest. That’s why Haiti is left burning now.

If we were really a Christian nation and Democratic incubator we would ship out once more. We have the guns and boats and troops and resources to save them but Earth Day 2024 marks a new line of demarcation a poor person of African Caribbean descent can fall below.

Grace and mercy to my Haitian friends. My heart breaks again with each new news headline, and you are not alone. We see the shameful brutality and we will remember the crimes against the innocent. There are times when justice seems to vanish but through nonviolent resistance redemption and moral superiority will prevail.

The trauma will end. Survive Haiti. Extinguish the fires with love. Your redemption is coming.
