alarming spread of measles, which has resulted in some fatalities
among children. The total number of registered measles cases has
amounted to 2500 cases with 8 deaths since the start of 2025; 85% of
the cases were not previously vaccinated against measles.The local medical sources have expressed their fears of the delayed
response from the health authorities to the evolving situation of the
measles outbreak and called for urgent vaccination campaigns and to
raise community awareness about the importance of children
vaccination, noting that parental refusal is one of the main risk
factors beside the weak public health system.
