Tonight a disciplined and committed movement of Greensboro citizens peacefully marched downtown even though they were completely surrounded by police officers, who were as far as I saw equally disciplined and committed to enforcing their orders respectfully. I hope my brothers and sisters in the Black Lives Matter movement here in Greensboro observed as clearly as I did that they must keep coming back and protesting exactly as they did tonight because the city of Greensboro spent a lot of money and effort to prevent violence that has nothing to do with the principles I saw folks marching for and even though they were entirely out gunned and required to stop the march at 8:00 this movement was entirely in control and heard up to 7:59, every word!
