Duke Energy’s War on Solar Power

Take the who killed the electric car argument and multiply it. I have solar panels from a company I suspect Duke Energy did no kindness to. However my panels are still working even though they run with fans buzzing constantly now. There are legal complaints against manufacturers of solar. I wonder when there will be lawsuits against Duke Energy?

You have to understand. These solar panels are a human rights issue, because every watt of sunlight converted into electricity was essentially a waste product or hazard before. Who needs more energy particles bombarding them on a 100 degree day. Let’s not wander though. The complaint is that these solar panels come with multiple settings. You can use them to put energy into electricity demand for household or you can store it in batteries. That’s the way it worked before whatever back room deal changed Duke Energy’s business rules.

Now the way the panels work is whatever setting you manually set there is only one option. During the day the panels are wide open meeting electricity demands and leaving the battery on empty. Mark this Duke Energy is connected to my box also by requirement when solar was installed. No matter what setting I toggle to move energy into the battery the computer in the system ignores my battery and only meets all of the energy demands of the house.

Then here’s the real punch in the gut, the remaining energy (because my system produces more than demand in summer) goes back to the grid. Then at night because my battery is you know, empty, the energy for household comes from Duke Energy — negating the very purpose of the battery.

And, we still have to pay for the panels and we continue to get absurd bills from Duke Energy. In other words we meet our own energy demand and some of the demand of our neighbors. Still pay high bills. Never receive service from original company or Duke Energy,

This is not a complaint for sympathy because I am no longer uncertain about solar. I know solar can save us if we defeat the rotten gangsters choking us with services for what, extinction for our kids? It’s not the technology it’s the money men that are responsible. Old crooked Mr. Duke Energy buying politicians and laying pipelines, his disposable wealth based on churning past climate emergencies into present emergencies from a species that refuses to learn.

What breaks my heart is because I see how we could have survived if just came together, even individually, like the copperhead — what kind of creature lacks the integrity to fight for its own survival.
