Gibraltar 🇬🇮 🗺

Gibraltar is a small but mighty British Overseas Territory located on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. With a rich history dating back to the Neanderthal era and a strategic location at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea, Gibraltar is a fascinating destination that is both unique and charming.

The Rock of Gibraltar is the most distinctive feature of this small territory – it towers over the city and provides a stunning backdrop to many photos. The top of the Rock is accessible by cable car, and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Visitors can also explore the many caves and tunnels that have been carved into the Rock over the centuries, including the famous St. Michael’s Cave.

Despite its small size, Gibraltar boasts a vibrant culture and a bustling economy. The main street, aptly named Main Street, is home to a plethora of shops, restaurants, and bars. Visitors can also explore the stunning marina, take a sunset cruise, or explore the many historic buildings throughout the city.

One of the most unique aspects of Gibraltar, however, is its wildlife. The territory is home to a colony of Barbary macaques, the only wild monkeys in Europe. Visitors can watch them play and interact in their natural habitat, but are warned to keep their distance – these monkeys are known for their cheeky antics!

All in all, Gibraltar is a destination that is well worth a visit. With a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, there is something for everyone on this tiny but mighty territory.
