This morning I was watching the webcast from Baku when suddenly the impassioned words of the delegates began to speed up. The playback grotesquely sped through their messages and their messages were ruined.
Now I know mistakes happen, but this is not the first time one of the webcasts out of Baku calling for fairness or attention to inequality has been bungled. In fact many of the webcasts about the vulnerable that we have tried to listen to in Solidarity at COP29 have been not been accessible due to similar glitches.
How can this be the best that we, with all of the resources and engines of Earths destruction cannot even give the delegates trying to warn us — a functioning microphone?
