The city of Bariloche, in the province of Río Negro, is on alert
after the death of a 39-year-old woman from a hantavirus [infection]
was confirmed.
The victim, originally from Buenos Aires but a resident of the city in
Río Negro province, had been admitted to the San Carlos Hospital on
Friday [7 Mar 2025] and died on Sunday [9 Mar 2025], according to
Víctor Parodi, director of the Ramón Carrillo Zonal Hospital.
The diagnosis of hantavirus [infection] was confirmed by PCR testing,
which detected the presence of the virus.
