This is an update on the undiagnosed deaths in Birniwa Local
Government Area (LGA) of Jigawa state, northwestern Nigeria, which are
suspected to be cholera, as those affected presented with
gastrointestinal symptoms.
In the previous report, the symptoms that patients presented with were
not available. It was only stated that cholera was suspected. It was
reported that interventions were made by the Jigawa state government
and samples were taken and sent to Abuja for testing. As of this post,
the results are not yet available.
