We found a 7-year-old girl infected with Zika at Popich village, Chong
Dong commune, Baray district, Kampong Thom province.
The girl was admitted to Baray Santuk Referral Hospital on 18 Sep 2023
at 18:25 at the Children’s Emergency Department.
Initial symptoms: on 18 Sep 2023, high fever, vomiting and diarrhea,
after the doctor treated the girl, she recovered, no more vomiting,
the doctor did a quick test for dengue fever, but the result was
negative.
On 19 Sep 2023, a sample was collected and sent to the Pasteur
Institute on 20 Sep 2023 and the results which were released on 21 Sep
2023 were positive for Zika.
