The Ministry of Health announced today [Thu [18 May 2023], that the confirmed cases of hemorrhagic fever have risen to 119, including 18 deaths.

The ministry’s spokesman, Saif Al-Badr, said that “Dhi Qar governorate recorded the highest number of cases, with 35 cases, followed by 18 cases in Basra, 10 cases in Al-Muthanna , 8 cases in each of Al-Najaf and Maysan, 6 cases in Al-Rusafa side of Baghdad, 5 cases in each of Wasit, Babil, Salah Al-Din, and Al-Karkh side of Baghdad, 4 cases in each of Diyala, and Al-Diwaniyah, 3 cases in Karbala, 2 cases in Al-Anbar, and 1 case in Erbil.”

Al-Badr added, “as for the deaths, Dhi Qar came first with 6 cases, followed by 3 deaths in Al-Muthanna, and 1 death in each of Basra, Al-Najaf, Diyala, Diwaniyah, Al-Rusafa side of Baghdad, Wasit, Babel, Erbil, and Karbala.”
