When my son first started gushing about David Goggins we mocked it. It was just funny this was the first book he was excited about. Nonetheless, it lit a spark. Eventually my cynicism faded a bit. Reading it now I can say it was actually written for TEH.
Everything hard we must master for others and planet earth must start by overcoming our own demons, mustering health, and making performance and perseverance personal.
Whatever mountain stands in your way. You have what it takes in you right now to climb it. All victories are yours if you can master your mind and form hard habits.
Read “Can’t Hurt Me“ and apply its principles. We’re going to do it in the TEH along with you. And I would say you don’t just have pursue such a blueprint to be a warrior. Do it for your love of God. Do it for justice. Do it for liberty. Do it for science. Do it for yourself and all who believed in you and the vulnerable and wild things.
Become a light in the distance that brings awareness of the shallows. The spark is in you.
Like Mr. Goggins says, become your own hero. The more suffering you know the more hazards you’ll illuminate with your beam. He is just one of the many from our species has shown us what we can achieve independently and together.
